Warner Music Group has hired Jackson Wong as the new Managing Director of its operations in China. He'll oversee day-to-day operations of WMG's Beijing office and has been tasked with expanding the company presence across the opportunity-rich mainland China.
"This is an exciting time to join Warner Music Group. Our local partnerships are enabling us to tap the huge potential of the Chinese market," said Wong. "We are in pole position to effectively monetise the huge consumption of music that is taking place in China."
Previously, Wong was the gm of Strategy and Investment, Business Development and Digital Business for Oriental DreamWorks.
He holds Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA from the University of British Columbia and the Rutgers School of Business respectively.
