Grace Shaw, known professionally as Mallrat is a musician, singer and rapper from Brisbane who started out uploading anthemic laptop tunes as a 16 year old in 2015. Mallrat’s 2015 official debut single “Suicide Blonde” was included in her 2016 debut EP Uninvited which she recorded during her last year of high school.
In June 2018, Mallrat released her second EP In The Sky featuring the tracks “Better”, “UFO” featuring Allday, and also “Groceries” which was certified gold in Australia that year.
At just 20 years of age, Mallrat has already secured an international label contract with Nettwerk Music Group, in addition to signing with Dew Process in Australia. She has also scored support slots for Post Malone, Maggie Rogers and Peking Duk, as well as performed at music festival Splendour In The Grass and South by Southwest.
Google licensed her track ‘For Real’ for use in their US campaign for the Google Pixel Phone. Steve Stromp, director of advertising & branding at Nettwerk Music Group in New York, says the track is ideal for sync. “It combines a bouncy piano rhythm with electronic elements, the lyrics are all positive and empowering and about doing your own thing. All those things come together to make it especially catchy and great for sync.”
Fans can look forward to chill vibes filled with swirling electronic beats and fresh lyrics - a dreamy pop evening with Mallrat.
