Japanese music producer Tetsuya Komuro will release another massive collection from his vast vault of past works next spring, following this year’s comprehensive song selection.
TETSUYA KOMURO ARCHIVES PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS, set for release Mar. 27, will contain forty-four CDs, a personalized gold disc, and four DVDs featuring recordings and visual works spanning the J-pop icon’s stellar career that took off from the 1980s.
Pre-orders have begun after the project was tentatively announced on Nov. 27, Komuro’s 60th birthday. While the set was planned by his current label Avex Trax, it will contain recordings released from other labels over the course of his 38 years in music.
The works featured in the “Premium TK Deluxe Box” will take a detailed look back on Komuro’s numerous milestones both as a hitmaker and musician. The box will feature such works as TK Selection by EUROGROOVE, Komuro’s multinational dance music group that scored No. 1 on the U.K. chart in the early 90s; his solo album series Digitalian Is Eating Breakfast that laid down the groundwork for today’s J-pop; Hit Factory, a collection of his performances of music he wrote for other artists; his tour de force CAROL: A DAY IN A GIRL'S LIFE 1991; the star-studded progressive rock album tk-trap, and various other works including previously unreleased music.
The collection will also contain the soundtrack album of the smartphone game Guardians, as well as behind-the-scenes and live footage from Komuro and Daisuke Asakura’s duo PANDORA’s show earlier this year at Japan’s Billboard Live.
