K-pop fans might recognize some familiar faces on the red carpet of this year’s Billboard Music Awards.
BTS announced Monday (May 8) that they will attend the BBMAs in hopes of winning the award for top social artist. The event will be the K-pop superstars' first U.S. red carpet.
Their nomination for top social artist is no surprise, as the group hit its 23rd week at No. 1 on the Social 50 chart on May 6, moving out of a tie with Miley Cyrus and Rihanna for third place in most weeks atop the chart.
BTS have 5.4 million Twitter followers and are a viral powerhouse on YouTube, with their videos for “Not Today,” “Spring Day” and “Change” amassing an average of 100 million views since their release in March.
The 2017 BBMAs will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 21. The show will air live at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on ABC.
