Known not only as one of the youngest DJ and music producer in the industry, Julian Jordan is the country’s new generation of dance music hotshots, with a mightily impressive track record in his short time in the game. He brings a fresh spin to the dance scene, fusing some of its trademark sound and bombast with exciting new twists and influences. Julian Jordan sat down with Billboard Radio China before his performance in the Tomorrowland United Taipei to talk his experience in Asia tours, his collaboration/ working experience with Martin Garrix, managing his own label and what to expect from his live shows. 

It’s Jordan’s second show in Taipei and to his previous experience, being able to perform in Asia is what the young DJ always looks forward to. “I actually love Asia tour because the people here are really dedicated to the music and they really love going out and showing that they love the music, the artist and DJ that plays and gets me a really good feeling when I go back to Asia.” says Julian Jordan. With such a huge, loyal fan base already amassed makes it a remarkable experience for Julian Jordan performing in Asia. As to what to expect in his live shows and performances, he said that he will be playing a few new songs in his show in Tomorrowland United . “ Festival-wise, I want to build the best festival sets in Taiwan today. I can’t wait to show the best of what I got.” 

Jordan’s passion and interest for music and DJ-ing started to groom from the age of 12 and as well influence from his family members - He mentioned that he discovered music through his brother, while his father encouraged him to produce his own music With the advance development of technology and the digital world, he used this platform as a way to send all the music he produced out to the internet and waited for a label to pick it up - there his dreams started to come true and his career in the DJ music industry started.

It is no coincidence that Jordan mentions DJ Martin Garrix. Both talented DJ’s started their friendship since they studied in the same high school at Herman Brood Academy. To Julian Jordan, working with Martin Garrix is really normal especially that they both started DJ-ing at the same age. Working and making music together is fun to both the DJs “ When we are in the studio together, we are just having fun, it’s just like friends hanging out and watching videos.” He also added “ It is not like I am star struck working with Martin, we are really good friends and it’s when you don’t have to really care about someone’s fame.” On top of that Julian announced that both of the will be releasing something together very soon. 

Speaking on new releases coming up, Julian Jordan just finished one with talented DJ producer - Olly James in which they just recently collaborated together with the song “ Bounce that”, their chemistry in making music together clicked when they encountered each other in an event and therefore decided to work and produce a song together. 

Apart from pursuing his career being a DJ, he also manages his own label, working tirelessly in the studio to continue developing his own sound. Despite the workload, Julian Jordan himself still finds it very cool to be in the position of CEO of his own label. “I have a lot of people working for me, having a team that is very dedicated to the label, dedicated to the management part.” 

As to what is next for Julian Jordan, he will be playing in Ibiza for Martin Garrix and perform in some festivals in Holland, Spain and other countries. Julian Jordan plans to come back to Asia very soon.    To engage more Asia fans, he created his own weibo and we chat account, he added by saying that he really focuses in Asia markets as well because the fan base created there is big.  “You guys rock and I absolutely love you guys. I hope to see you guys soon near asia. I can’t wait to see you all.”
