Some people might tell you that they need rehab. If you didn’t know better, you’d be forgiven for not knowing that they’re talking about one of the most prolific remixers and producers on the planet. All the way out from Breda, The Netherlands, we sat down with the man himself to get the scoop on his life, his music, and even his Weibo account. This is 10 Questions with R3hab!
He’s “Brother 3” in China, but he might be best known for his remixes of all of your favorite pop and hip-hop songs. With Billboard Radio China’s own DJ Doomkitty, the Dutch house star got into a little bit of everything and wasn’t afraid to make his voice heard. From his views on most albums out today (they’re ‘straight up garbage’) to using social media to connect with fans around the world, we learned a lot about the life and times of a perfectionist workaholic DJ and producer whose name is known around the world. We got into everything from his ever-changing style and growing musical journey to how hard he works to curate for his weekly podcast, I Need R3hab. We even got into the details about the differences between creating a remix and an original song and his most important rule for making it in the music industry.
He might not be known as the hardest working man in show business, but he’s most certainly one of them. We caught R3hab at the St. Regis Hotel in Shenzhen, up on one of the top floors with a massive view of the city.
