With Asia rising as one of the fastest growing EDM scenes around the globe, an increasing number of international DJs are embracing China as a new destination as they pin down clubs and festivals across the region in their tour schedules. Fresh off of performances across 3 cities in China, DJ Manse, a label favorite for Armada Music and Revealed Recordings, sat down with Billboard Radio China to talk about his China experience and new releases.

DJ Manse’s most recent tour in China included his first festival appearance in the region. He expressed that performing at Dreamland Electronic Music Festival, a musical celebration in the Mongolian desert, was truly an unforgettable experience. The Swedish rising star also expressed his surprise towards the level of energy among the Chinese audience, which he found vastly different from his normal relaxed European crowd. “Chinese fans really appreciate my music and are open to new elements. It’s the experience with people who like my sets that makes up for the stressful times on the road” said Manse.

Talking about his music, the young talent discovered by Hardwell is evolving his big room progressive house sound as well as transferring his talents into experimental sounds that go beyond club settings. His latest track, Where We Want to Be, is one of many more new tracks to come that will explore this evolution. Explaining his creative process, Manse said, “My songs normally take one to one and a half years to release. I like to keep the song waiting and come back later with fresh air.” In his mind, this new single is a song that stood this test of time and “translates my emotions into melodies”.

DJ Manse plans to release an EP with 3 progressive house songs, a chill out album in 2018, and do more shows around the world. The Swedish star’s run of fine releases shows no sign of relenting.
